You don’t own a business, but you want to help out?
We already like the looks of you. OUR Restroom is able to exist because of hundreds of very generous humans who donated to our IndieGoGo Campaign in the summer of 2016, and we could not be more thankful for that support. This work is being done exclusively by volunteers, and there are so many ways for you to get involved in our continued efforts to rid every single-stall restroom of it’s gendered signs! Here are a few ways you can get involved:
All funds donated to OUR Restroom will go directly toward providing signs to businesses who want them, doing outreach to local businesses through physical mailings (have you seen our very cute postcards?), and to assisting in our research of building codes and city laws!
We have soooooo much to do! For every business we contact, we research local codes and laws, and ensure that they know exactly how to change out their signs. We also have an ever-growing database of businesses that needs to be kept organized and maintained, mailings that need to go out, phone calls that need to be made, and the list goes on. We love volunteers, and if you have time to give, we would love to work with you. Just contact us with your interest in volunteering at hello (at) ourrestroom (dot) com!
Help us with your smart brain!
Are you a lawyer? A city official? A building planner? A sign maker?! There are so many facets of this work, and having legal help or governmental know-how as we navigate city-by-city is incredibly helpful. If you have a special skill or run a business that would be willing to donate time or services (you could print some postcards for us, even!), we would be forever thankful.
Share, share, share!
Spreading the word about OUR mission is incredibly helpful! It allows your friends and their friends and their grandma’s friends (you know how the internet works) to know that we exist, and that means more people with more businesses will be learning what they need to make their bathroom spaces safer. Here are some images you can use to share about us, and links to all of our social platforms! Tag us when you see a business that has gender neutral restrooms so we can feature them! Wooooo!
